Second Story is a boutique home staging and redesign studio based in Southern California, created for people who want their homes to feel beautiful, comfortable, and genuinely lived in.

I’m Angela — the owner and designer behind the business — and I personally handle every project from the first walkthrough to the final styling layer.

My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and intentionally hands-on. Rather than designing around formulas or trends, I focus on creating spaces that feel natural, welcoming, and reflective of the people who live there.

The Story Behind Second Story

Second Story grew from a love of homes that feel collected, comfortable, and genuinely lived in.

I’ve always been drawn to spaces with personality — homes layered with meaningful pieces, natural texture, good light, and a sense of ease that can’t be manufactured by trends alone.

Over time, that perspective evolved into a business centered around thoughtful staging and redesign for real life. Not overly formal spaces. Not showroom-perfect rooms. Just homes that feel warm, intentional, welcoming, and reflective of the people living in them.

Much of my inspiration comes from California living — desert tones, coastal air, vintage pieces, relaxed materials, and spaces that feel soulful rather than overdone.

That version matches the title much better because it actually tells your story and perspective together.

A More Personal Approach

Because Second Story is intentionally small, clients work directly with me throughout the entire process.

I’m involved in every walkthrough, every layout decision, every sourcing session, and every final styling detail. That hands-on approach allows the experience to feel collaborative, thoughtful, and tailored to each home instead of overly structured or impersonal.

Many of the homes I work on are lived-in family homes, transition spaces, downsizing projects, vacation rentals, or homes entering a new season. I understand that design isn’t just about how a space looks — it’s also about how people want to feel inside of it.
